  1. To what extent did Reconstruction bring former slaves equality and freedom?
  2. In what ways did events and trends in the perios from 1875 to 1920  reinforce the idea that the United States was a "melting pot"? In what ways ws this idea contradicted?
  3. Analyze and discuss the approaches of two of these three president toward progressivism: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, Woodrow Wilson.
  4. Discuss the impact of the economic, cultural, and social changes of the period from 1875 to 1930 on the lives of American women. Were the changes felt by working-, middle-, and upper-class women?
  5. Federal policies under presidents Harding and Coolidge reflected the probusiness attitudes of the 1920s. Write an essay discussing and illustrating this statement with specific examples.
  6. The 1920s were a time of changing manners and morals and of cultural ferment. Write an essay discussing the changes that took place in popular culture and among artists and intellectuals.
  7. <>The 1920s have been characterized as a decade of economic, social, and cultural change. Analyze the extent to which the First World War and consumerism affected United States society during this period.

Respond in a 5 paragraph essay. Three standards to follow:

      1. Remember the intro is the intro and the conclusion is the conclusion.
      2. Each point should have two supports
      3. If it isn't in chronological order make it clear why not
